Star Trek=Win
lol, I keep typing Stark Trek instead of Star Trek, I apologize, I blame Iron man.
Star Trek is made of all kinds of win. It was amazing, entertaining, funny in all the right spots and upgraded..thank gawd.
I wanted to see this movie because I knew it would be good but I had 0 interest in it really, at all. But I wanted to see it anyway because I'd enjoy it even if I had no interest..its really weird. I felt the same way when The Incredibles came out..loved that movie too even though I didnt have any interest in it at the time.
I went to a..third?..cousins..birthday party. It was the son of a cousin of my dads, think that makes it a third cousin maybe..Im not sure we're related that far back..anyway, we were talking to another one of my dads cousins and she said she knew absolutely nothing about Star Trek at all and she saw the movie and it practically filled her in on all those Star Trek details she never knew about and she enjoyed it alot also.
So I recommend everybody see it.
The guy who plays Captain Kirk is amazing. I never thought of William Shatners Kirk as all that great of a character but Chris Pine, so we said "brought Kirks sexy back". Its seriously threatening Picards "awesomest Captain evar!" reputation.
My brother was upset that he didnt do. any. of. the. Shatner. pauses. And I kinda think he had a small homage to it during the simulator scene. It was nothing major, which is fine by me.
There was actually alot of homages. The "IM A DOCTOR! NOT A -----" were almost excessive but he was a fun character and I liked him alot. He was in some of the most hilarious of scenes.
and you cant not have the "Im givin her all she's got cap'n" and Checkov..me and my brother were quoting futurama "Say Nuclear Wessels" "8| no."
My favorite is the red shirt guy. Me and my brother were totally like "you're so totally dead"
Zachery Quinto's a great spock too though me and my siblings were grossed out by his several lovey dovey scenes D:
What I really really liked were how even though the womens star fleet uniforms were still the short dresses, it didnt bother me and scream 60s gogo dancers so you know that the crew totally did something right just by that. I was really worried about that one.
My favorite scenes were probably the beginning with Poppy Kirk. Very emotional and well done. I think I would have almost wanted to cry had I not been in public.
and I love the part where they go to rescue planet Vulcan and they poof out of warp and are in the middle of a graveyard of starfleet ships. Very creepy and very well done.
most of all I love how they built that relationship between Kirk and Spock throughout the whole movie. Very nice progression, usually are usually like "poof! we like each other now!" and they didnt do that here.
So I loved it!
Watching the credits though, Ive not looked this up yet. Love how Winona Ryders name was up in the big credits. I have no idea who she played in the movie so I gotta chuckle out of it..think her name was before Zachery Quintos and I was kinda like "wtf"
My other part of the theater experience are the people in the theater. Sometime during the middle of the movie, some guy from the row behind me got up and left the theater then he came back with a security guard and I was sitting in the last seat of the row and they were standing right next to me talking. The guy pointed out some "lady in the red shirt" who had been sitting behind him and I guess she was being too loud and noisy and when he asked her to be quiet she snapped at him or something, so he went and got a security guard to yell at her.

thats all, we had a pretty good theater. No babies crying or anything but nobody clapped at the end either but me..I was once again "wtf"d
The transformer trailer, I think, got more claps.
